MY BEST SESSION YET

THIS is what FPV is about

  • How I got into FPV racing I discovered FPV goggles through internet research. I got my first pair of FPV goggles for my 14th birthday and began flying my remote-control planes using FPV. I had to wait a few months until I could afford to buy my first drone – and since then I’ve been hooked!
  • WHY I LOVE FPV racing? Because it gives me an awesome out of this world 3D experience. There are no boundaries – the sky is limitless, my horizons are constantly expanding! Racing is adrenalin pumping excitement. There’s always the challenge of learning new manoeuvres, tricks in freestyle and perfecting ones piloting skill. I love the freedom to explore – different locations, dramatic scenery, aerial views and the sensation of soaring like a bird with my wing. It’s a futuristic sport akin to sci-fi, dramatic, virtual and yet its reality – a surreal mix!

Drone racing at Mobile World Congress 2017

  • How I got into FPV racing At the beginning of 2015 I made a new year’s resolution to spend 20 hours on something new. I bought a quad small enough to fly around my house line-of-sight. I successfully built my first quad a few months later. I met a group of people online and we meet up regularly and fly together. Since then I have spent hundreds possibly thousands of hours practicing and perfecting my quad setup.
  • WHY I LOVE FPV racing? Flying FPV you switch off from the rest of the world, all thoughts go and you are fixed in the moment. Whether you are racing or flying freestyle, you are just at one with the quad. Nothing else compares to the sensation you get from drifting round a corner just a few feet from the ground, then punching the throttle to launch yourself through the next air gate.

  • How I got into FPV racing I asked myself what’s the coolest thing I can do in life. Looked for an answer for few months. Found out about FPV and drone racing. I was hooked!
  • WHY I LOVE FPV racing? Because it’s freaking out of this world. The fact that you can experience world from a robot’s perspective ... AND FLY !?! Like you were in that dream about flying... or have your own avatar... It’s all like the best and most exciting video game ever... but in reality. I mean you would have to be crazy not wanting that, right??

What FPV Lovers Do

Sometimes, We Just Need To Relex

  • How I got into FPV racing I learned about Rc model Heli\'s and cars from my Dad at 5 years old and I flew model heli\'s for over 10 years as a player who represented Korea. In September 2016 I turned to FPV racing because Drone racing has a measure that can determine the ranking objectively. There is nothing else except finishing the laps first ! That made me get into FPV drone Racing.
  • WHY I LOVE FPV racing? Above all things, the biggest reason is I can see the drone\'s perspective. I can race in the drone\'s perspective with other pilots and It is super fast (this is why I call FPV drone racing F1 in the air). It gives me a totally awesome experience every race. Another reason is the thrill and sense of accomplishment when I win a race. This makes me crazy and gives me the power to win a race!

My Best Year Yet - 2017

  • How I got into FPV racing I\'ve been involved in radio control planes, etc since I was pretty young. Then around March 2015, I saw a few videos on YouTube of the mini quad racing. Then together with my friend Tom Stanton we both bought all the bits to build our first Quad and I have been racing since then.

  • How I got into FPV racing I first came across First Person View drone videos in early 2015.  These videos were unlike anything I had ever seen and my mind was just exploding with questions.  It was legitimately the coolest thing I had ever seen.  I bought a little toy drone that night and started my journey into FPV and drones.
  • WHY I LOVE FPV racing? First Person View drones have turned into my creative outlet.  The freedom that you gain while flying is just unrivaled.  I am extremely passionate about creating FPV videos in hopes of wowing and inspiring people to get into the sport.

While I searched the internet for drone parts I came across some racing footage - I ordered my first FPV copter parts the same day :) Since I’ve been always a very competitive guy, the racing part was obvious.
  • Why I love FPV racing / Freestyle? 1. With FPV goggles you trick your mind, it feels like real flying. which is a dream of mankind. 2. Competition.

  • How I got into FPV racing When I was a kid, I always wanted to handle helicopters and aircraft radio control, to see them in the movies. And when I started to work and have money, I bought my first RC helicopter and started to enjoy the hobby about 11 years ago.
  • WHY I LOVE FPV racing? In the world of RC helicopter after winning the championship of Spain and several national and opens, I attended many events and spent many great moments with friends. At the end of 2014 I saw the first videos of drones FPV racing in France and underground parking – it blew me away, I also wanted to test that sense of immersion. I bought and built my first Drone and started this great FPV racing adventure, which I never imagined would go so far.

In May 2015 I participated in my first drone race on the beach and it was love at first sight! In 2016 I attended a world first – the World Drone Prix event in Dubai with Tornado XBlades. This team has done so much for me and has been the best team ever for me and I think for all its members. We are a big family!!!
  • WHY I LOVE FPV racing? Because when you put the goggles on your head you power off your mind – it’s very exciting and stimulating and I like very much to compete with other pilots, so as to understand and test my limits.

how i tune my quads

  • How i got into FPV Racing I was flying quads LOS Acro for several years, i was not interested in FPV Racing when it first came up some years ago. Of course i did FPV flying, also way before the Racing scene arised, but more for the reason of exploring this technology and flying for fun like following other RC Airplanes and doing nice shots of them. One day in summer 2016 my video signal got interfered by someone on the same frequency some hundreds of meters away, he was practising for FPV Racing. i tracked down his video signal, we met each other and have been friends since. That was the beginning of flying FPV Race tracks for me! Some months later was my first attendance at an FPV Race where i actually got in to the Finals!
  • Why i love FPV racing After designing and flying LOS Quads for a long time, FPV Racing is something refreshing to me. A new way of flying, new requirements and challenges when designing quads, amazing events and great competitions where you meet new people from all over the world. It's an accelerator for the evolution of quad technologies in many ways.

  • How I got into FPV racing I got into FPV having flown fixed wing planes since I was around 10 years old, i then started to look on the internet to see what else i could do to take this to the next level. This is where i found FPV, I started off doing aerial cinematography, and when that got boring i found the next step up... FPV racing. From there it has spiralled into something that is not only a hobby but an obsession.
  • WHY I LOVE FPV racing? I love FPV in general but specifically the racing aspect, its the adrenaline of the race combined with the team spirit and a unique challenge. No two races are the same, you have to constantly adapt and improve in order to stay competitive, and for me that is the ultimate challenge.

  • How I got into FPV racing When I was about 8 years old my dad had a cinematic drone. They were fun, but got boring very quick because they basically fly themselves. One day while out flying I saw a group of people racing quads. After watching them for about an hour I had to try it out for myself. On Christmas morning 2015 my Dad gave me my first done. I have been flying and haven\'t stopped since.
  • WHY I LOVE FPV racing? It’s so awesome to fly FPV from the cockpit of the drone. It’s like pod racing in STAR WARS. It almost feels like you’re in a fantasy flying super fast around flags and gates. I love FPV because I’ve meet lots of amazing people. If you need help someone always steps up. It feels like one big team of pilots who all love the challenge and have need for speed.
